No more snow please!

Ok I had enough for the year. After all there's about 23 inches out there ! Give or take a few inches. might be a few more in certain part of the yard but I'm not going tried walk in it to measure it..

 Oh course, It wouldn't be so bad if that 9 inches hadn't come down Tuesday night.  Was kinda hoping too, that snow would hold off until after I shovel off the deck Thursday. Then again, it was nice to wake up with the snow falling.  By 2pm things were getting bad out there. Wind was picking up a bit, snow was coming down harder. Was planning to go back out at 4 to shovel again. Hahaha on that. By 8pm there was about 9 inches

Also by then, the wind were really start to pick up. By 9pm they were just roaring through, snow was starting to drift. Power flicker for a bit but enough that I got off the computer. After I got done watching the figure skating, I check outside again. Ugh! I felt sorry for anybody who had be out. It was just plain awful. 

Awful too was wind.  With it roaring through, occasionally shaking the house. I had a really hard time falling asleep. But I manage and didn't get up until 9:30, with the snow lightly falling too.

It wasn't until after lunch I started digging out the front steps and porch. At one point I I was digging through 37 inches of snow. That was a combination drifting snow and what was thrown by the snow blower.  Got that done and now just have to finish the deck with it's 20 inches of white nuisance.

I do hope I can sneak in a walk tomorrow. Depends how tired I'll be.

Oh more thing, there's talk of another storm for next week.

The guy's snow plow broke. so he use our snowblower to clear out the driveway.

Two days worth of snow. Give or take a couple inches. Last night the wind just roar through this area.

And now I'm going back outside to clear some the deck off.

That's what one the local papers is calling today's storm.  It's 2:11pm and things are now getting worse. The wind has started to pick up and snowing coming down at a good clip. Already shovel once because yesterday I couldn't do the deck because I was recovering from the dentist visit. That I'm happily to report went well, just the gum is tab sore. 

So I have snow everywhere, in great big piles too. I figure maybe by April they will be gone. The kids must be loving the weather since this is their second day off. Then for Friday, they are calling for a little more snow to come in, so the kids will get that day off too. Funny thing is, I don't remember getting 2-3 snowday in row as a kid. So unfair!

So a snowy day is lay out before me. I have a stack of poems that wishes to be type up. so that's what I'll do right now. As for the photo above. I figure a sign of spring would be nice. it's only 23 days away. I'll be back with lots of snow pictures, hopefully tomorrow night.

Oh my dentist appointment has been change to 11:30. So i'll end this post now and maybe get back to it tonight.

Snow again ugh!!!

yea, I'm facing another round of snow. This time, I don't want it!!!

Such a grey day too. Oh course not helping my sorta bad mood, is that I have to go back to the oral surgeon on Wed to have a little more work done on my gums. Grrr!! Found out about that last Friday from the dentist when i went to see him. I was hoping that he would start doing the impression. But no, got some bad news instead.

Oh well, that's life. It's nothing really major that needs to be done, just more a damn you got be kidding me? 

I was going post some last Thursday but then wind decide it was more fun to roar through this area. Then I thought I had a wonderful picture of snow scene that was shot in infrared. Well It didn't quite work out. I just need a warm day and no wind to get that one damn picture I want.

Then spent the greater part of the weekend sorting my poetry files on the computer. It's been awhile since I took the random files and group them into file of 12-15 pages long. Which I landed up with 4 groups.  Then I take those group, and put the first lines of the poems in a database I created.  Turns out I added 124 poems to the list. And I will brag, that means I have about 750 poems finished. With another stack of about 25 poems that need to be type too. I found those in a drawer that I clean out last week. 

The pic above is one the Art Journal Caravan. The topic was "letting loose with color.  I little behind with getting them done. Last two I had to think about what I was going do with the topic. 99% the stuff I used to create the page came from a scrapbooking kit created a designer call Tangie Baxter.  

So tomorrow will be another snowy, gloomy day. I think I'll spend it typing up poems. I'm so far behind on revising the poems. I just didn't really feel like dealing with them last year. This year, I want work with them and get them total done. Plus writing more poem, along with all the other things I like to do with my life.

A little snow tonight

A little snow for tonight, maybe get up to 5 inches. I'll be just happy if we get just 2. It's mid February, I'm looking for Spring now. I have an aunt who lives in Virgina, she call today and said that robins are there and they are playing in the snow. Probably trying to keep their feet warm. But at least they are making thier way up here.

Spring is 33 days away.

Did take a walk after lunch, since it was such a beautiful day. Did tried more infrared shots but none really came out that good.  Really wanted to take the Rebel along but still working on setting the custom white balance for the those kind of shots, especially if I want to tried a color shot. But I don't remember if set the balance with the infrared lens on or off.  Techically you suppose to use green foliage to set it, like tree leaves. However this is winter, might use just plain house plants instead. I'm hoping with using the rebel, I can use a higher ISO and reduce a the shutter speed just a bit. 

Oh I'm tired right now. This little storm brought a bit of headache today. Though I could blame something it on something else too.

Tomorrow I do planned work on poems. I miss it working on them . So looking forward to hopefully the whole afternoon with words

The big Snow

Along with this one, it an infrared shot. I never tried during winter, not a bad shot.  I think it was a little too breezy at the time.

So the big storm came through yesterday. Giving us 10 inches of light fluffy snow.  As with a nor'easter, cause lots of headaches in the area. Some of PA highways were shut down because of all the accidents. Snow emergency were declared in a couple towns. As for schools, the local schools are closed for the second day. Me, surprising I didn't get a headache from this storm. Then again, when I woke up on Wed, I took two Tylenols just as preventive measure.

Did the shoveling. As always, on Wednesday when I did it, an hour later it look like I did nothing. As for today, well when I got done with the deck and walk back to the garage,I forgot about that patch of ice that I saw before. :)

The nor'easter pretty lasted for 24 hours and I was glad to see it go. At this time of the year, I'm tired of winter. I start looking forward to Spring. I start missing going outside to take my walks. Miss a lot walks due to weather or me being sick or the mouth issue.

Now watching the twin's 125 at Daytona. The Daytona 500 is this Sunday. Oh miss my auto racing and by March -I'll be looking forward to my Yankess games!

Before the snow hits-

Before the snow hits, it usually a nice day. The temps were in the upper 30s and as you can see -

I got a walk in.

This time I just brought the little Kodak CX 7530 camera along.  Really wasn't mood to lug the other two cameras around. And since  Photoshop lets me use Adobe Camera Raw for jpeg photos. I can get better picture from the camera now.  Actually it does takes good pictures but now and then, it really goofs up. 

So major snow is in the forecast. Looks like I'll be getting about 8-12 of the snow. There's no way this storm is going miss us. However, so far, I don't have any headache but that could change by tomorrow. Most of seems to be coming tomorrow. Which is better, there's nothing like sitting at the desk, watching the snow come down.

Dodge a big snow bullet!

Dodge one major snow bullet today. Carol who lives south of me by Harrisburg, is dealing with about two feet of snow. My aunt Jean who lives in Virgina, also got about two feet of snow. Me what did I get out this storm?

Nothing !!!

Not a single flake,best to my knowledge, fell. I was looking forward to at least 1-2 inches of snow. Just to make everything look pretty.  As you can see, later on in the day, got some sun and blue sky.

However, looks like on Tuesday night into Wednesday snow will be coming down. And I don't think we'll be missing this one.
