Great Weekend

Waitmommyjpg

It's a great weekend when you have baby turkeys to photograph. They are going down my front steps trying to catch up with Mommy. The mother brought then around a few times over the weekend. The funny part about them, they kinda look like baby ducks too.

Another good thing about the weekend, the last two days were above 70F and sunny!! it was another beautiful today with a T-storm passing through late in the afternoon. The other two went north of us when they came through earlier.

Maybepurple

Having a chuckle with this flower. It's a purple flower who for the most part is blue on all the photos I took of it tonight. A few tweaks on the camera and in Photoshop got the purple to come out some more. I have the same trouble with my purple African violets. Must be the purple coloring in the flower that goofs the cameras up. Because it did it with my Kodak too.

Pollen colored woodpecker?

Whoami2

There's a bit a discussion on this bird. It looks like a downy woodpecker but a that woodpecker is mostly white on the belly. Well this one is yellowish with a touch of green toss in. So the question is, is the tree's pollen coloring this bird this color or is it, a natural color? I never seen this colored bird before. It has been raint for a couple day and the oak pollen is heavy this year

I do have a bird book and I don't see it except as a regular downy woodpecker
? Even then I hoping that I remember the right woodpecker. There was another below it that look simlier to this one. Might have to get Carol over here to figure this one out.

I'm also hoping this post is looking alright. Typepad has made changes to the compose area, I like the changes but I think my font settings got change. So any goofs are because the new system.

What's next - snowflakes

Brr... It's been chiily not warm this past week. A few patron who came in today , pretty much said the same comment. "It feels like winter." Actually according to Mom, there was a patch of frost on the roof when she got up. Considering  when I woke up around 1:30 am becaase I was cold, not surprising. Already set the heat at 60 for tonight.

Got lucky this time and my cold was only a minor one. Did manage to type up five poems on Sunday. Please what I have so far this year. There's enough poems now I can do a printing session on Wednesday. Oh yes that rocks. As for the photography, nothing really new. Blame that on my cold and the rainy weather we been having. Guess I'll have to come up with something.

Being Quiet

Sorta being quiet this week. I get this way once and awhile and coming down with a cold is not helping either. Plus last night, Blogger was soooo slooow with loading blogs. That's why some blogs didn't get any comments last night. Did write one good poem this week. Still haven't seen a baby fawn yet. Have been watching the wolf pups on the web cam, they are so cute!

Then buying a computer game call Peggle to play on the iMac does make me a more quiet person. See I play the game instead working on photos and poems. It's a fun and great game. Glad I brought it, I love hearing a bit of Beethoven's Ode of Joy when I win a game.

So here's the new poem, enjoy.

Silent voice - is not really silent.
More of a black knife against the perfect sky.

In the act itself a slight shifted to peace
More belong to me than out there.
All the while, I sit here with my reflection
neither smiling nor frowning for this day.

Holding on to an idea,
                  who’s greater than God

but is God, before me in silent grace.

They are so cute!!-

Go here and simple go "they are so cute" They are two wolf pups that are now living at the International Wolf Center

"I'm so cute!"

More info

Lucky for me, the boss doesn't mind that I keep track on them at work because she watching too!

Please no pictures

Gotyou

This bird really doesn't want me taking any pictures of it. Finally got lucky tonight!

Do you mind!

Yes

I took this on Wednesday while I was eating my lunch outside.

A blue bunting has be hanging around the yard too. But he's not being too photogenic right now. For today, it's been heavy rain which is hopefully is now drowning all the gypsy caterpillar that have now come out. For some reason, they love to hang around on the library's bookdrop. Yes I could kill them with a piece of paper towel  but I can't bring myself to do that.

A rock and some ferns

Hello there little fellow

2432birdcopy

This little fellow, a Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, was nice to stop by while I was home. Here was he earlier but I was at work. His mate was on the other feeder, plus a few yellow finches brighten up the cloudy day.

Ok that's enough clouds and drab days, can have some sun now.

This week my Painter Essentials 4 came and can I say I'm going have some fun with it!!! Oh it's so much better than 3 was. Corel did a wonderful job of redoing the interface. It's easier to use now with Wacom tablet, especially with changing the brushes. There are some new brushes, love the Sumi ones. There are three ways to pick colors, the color palette, color wheel and my favorite, the color mixer. Yes you can mix your own colors now. yes!  I only had the color wheel on 3 and really did a lousy job with choosing colors. I haven't really seriously tried anything with it yet. Just learning how to do things with it now. But once I do create something, I'll post it here.
