Leap day and where's Spring

Weq1181df

It's Leap Day and right now, snow is falling once again. I need Spring!!!

Enough of the white and bare branches waving hello at the snow. Can't they instead, wave in Spring and offer it a chair too. Maybe stir up some colors too besides white snow. Or at, some warmer temperatures on the days I'm home so I can take a walk.

Well for tonight, it's snowing falling on the last day of Feb.

Hey Swan!, it's only 20 days until the Spring Equinox.

Back on track now.

It's so nice not to have deal with a cold now. It really goofs your plans for the week. Also having no DSL last goofs up my plans to post last night too.

Finally got around to working with Shades and iMac to get this LCD screen a little more perfect for working with photography. I'm happy to say, it does help. I'm sure with the next iMac, they won't be as bright. BUT, I do love the glossy screen! It does make the photos sharper, so the goofs show up better. I know a lot people would prefer a matte screen instead, however I'm coming from a CRT monitor. The glossy screen is the closes you can get to a CRT to me. I've read a few  photographers who have brought a couple CRT moniters and stored then for future use. I can't afford that route. I know with my old moniter, I'm going rig it to the iMac when the Gateway dies. Use it for Photoshop for the extra menus.

Did almost have a major goof with the printer on Sat night, I did download the new Leopard driver and at first it didn't work right. Slightly panic, wishing that I had gotten an Epson instead. But I think it was ink, yellow was pretty much empty. Once I change that, the printer behave itself again.

Winter around here has been showing its fun side. Last Friday,we got 8 inches of snow. For today, it was a mix bag of snow, sleet, freezing rain and maybe now, just plain rain. The library closed at 3 due to the weather. It was dead by 2:30 pm and the was concern what was going happen tonight. So called the main office and told them we closing down. This winter has been wild with closing earlier and just shutting down for the day. Luckly for us, the patron haven't complain too much. The schools around here, have use up all their snow days. So it's looking like Easter vacation will shorten this year.

The photo above, the colors have been played around with .

Feb19- new poem

*****

The evergreen does lack a winter’s color,
white is not gracing its curved boughs.
For the clouds won’t carry the snow
and wishing has aged into a fairy tale crone.
Why do I outgrow these childish ideas
and become the adult facing death?

Perhaps, there a small part of this black me,
sitting on this page, cares to repeat some childhood scene.
Where a sun would look great if it was green
Against a sky of bright orange clouds, bringing me
all the purple snow snowflakes I wished for.

But the alas in all the sum of this,
                        no turning of anything back.

Face forward and say a grace for the day.

Felt like Spring was tugging me

Lastice

Ah it felt like  a spring day despite the grey clouds during my walk. It wasn't until I got home that sun peak out for a bit. Neverless it was a good walk. Then after I made my tea, settled down for the afternoon and work on some poems. Spent two hours working on them, revising and typing them up. They still on the iMac, I'll wait couple days to post them. When I transfer the poetry files from the Gateway to the iMac. I forgot to transfer the workbook files too. So the stack of poems I found needed to be type has to wait until I transfer them over. I honestly I can't remember what I do on the computer. That's why I'm done with a poem I rip everything up and put big Xs in the notebooks.

Finally got around to install Shades for the iMac. I don't really mind the bright screen, just wanted to take the edge off of it. Plus, the screen on both computer was always too bright for word processing. Now if I can only my printer and Photoshop to agree with printing everything. With Photoshop Elements, I didn't have all these choices to make on who handles what and what settings I use. Plus I'm using a Mac, which throws in a new set of things to work out. Oh course it would help if I could find my printer manual. Yes that's gone missing, again. It's thin, so it's tuck or between something. Might be on the disk too. Nows where's that ?

I'll post a new poems tomorrow.

Ice storm and headaches don't agree with me

Iceclose_2

Such a wonderful ice storm that i got to deal with yesterday.

Woke up to a thick coating of ice on everything. The only good thing that came out of it, was some pictures.  I see future art projects with those. But for the most part, the day was spent dealing with one my day headaches.(having period to, didn't help either.) It was also one those where I was starting to feel better. Then bang! it was throttling my head again. I took a few things but nothing really help. So waited it out.

As for the ice storm itself, the lights flickers a few times. Thought I lost the internet for the day. Turns out I just forgot to replug the Dsl line back into the phone jack (yes you can laugh) Have too many branches littering the yard too. I did venture out to shovel the front porch off and part the deck. Naturally, the wind had to pick when I was doing the deck. So got tag by a
few pieces of ice coming off the trees. Hopefully the next storm(aka this weekend) will be either all snow or rain.  Enough of the ice stuff. it beautiful in it's own way but a major pain in the ass too!

Tomorrow these"wonderful stitches will be out my mouth. Was hoping one them would fall out  today. It's driving me crazy!

Yea got out at 3!

First day back at work and it was a short one!

Most the swelling went down, now just have get this huge bruise to go away. Lucky, none of the patrons said anything, especially the kids. For them, I was going tell them I had an accident. If I told them was because of a dentist's visit and the parents would never get them into the dentist's chair.

The snow started just before noon but didn't really get heavy until around 1:30. The roads were staring to get cover by the time I left. It was nice to come home, have a cup of tea and work on the plot puzzle at Neopets.

Flurries won't do

I need more snow!!! Large flakes please!!!! A good two inches would be good right now.

Yes I'm looking to get out of work earlier today. Nice part too, Boss agrees with me :-)

Look like a bruise chimpmunk

Fractaul28dab

Doing good right now. Thank You for all the good wishes

Both sides of the face is kinda on the big side. Plus a few stitches that by the end of the week will be driving me crazy. Still a little sore and glad for the pain pills. A bowl of chocolate ice cream is very helpful too! Was to get down some pancakes for supper.

Right now typing up this post and watching the Budweiser Shootout on TV. Hoping that Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch get into another wreck. Don't want to see them get hurt. Just want to see Tony punch Kurt face in. But there's a rumor that Tony already decked Kurt in the Nascar hauler. LOL!

The fractal above was today. It's actually two fractals that I used Photoshop to join. Good thing I have a Wacom tablet to cut the two red ones in the black center. tried it with a mouse first. Just turn into a comical routine for the day.  I am enjoying the program. Have a few ideas I want to tried out later on.

Um it's Feb not July

So do we really need a T-storm coming through when I'm about going on the internet. Oh well, at least it will wash away all the dirty snow for the next batch.  Actually under a flood watch, Delaware River was a little high when I saw it today. It would be nice this year, if it stay in its banks.

Mixed day today, I lost my little notebook that had my shopping list, plus a poem I had written on the way down. Was with the parents. I should went back in the store  to look for it but there was no times, since there's 1 pm deadline for the tax lady. I've learn my lesson. Rip the shopping list out and leave the damn notebook in the car!!!   There's no way I can back to  the store to see if they found it. It's 10+ mile trip down there and with gas prices as they are.  Forget about it. I did remember parts of the poem. So after supper, spent some time recreating it.  Happy about that.

The second goof-  i was thinking about buying a iPod Nano . Look in Walmart, they had them.  However, decide to go to Staple instead an get it. After all, they were on their website and it didn't say online sales only. Guess what, they don't carry them! Ugh! In the way it's good thing. The next time, I might just pick up the regular Ipod. By then, my iTunes buying will result in a better selection for iPod. i need it for computer time at night. My stereo is on the other side of the room and the headphone cord isn't long enough. Yes I could do iTunes and do the Photoshop. However, I rather if all the memory was devoted to Photoshop. I tend to do many layers projects.

Just reminder, on Friday, the wisdom teeth will be taken out. So this blog will be quiet until I feel up to dealing with it. Also I'll probably off the internet too, so commenting either.

Oh this going be fun
