Finally it feels like winter in this area. Right now it’s about 23F, with beautiful blue sky. There’s a chance of snow For Thursday night. I have a slight problem with that. Yes I want it to snow. But I was planning to go to the store on Fri and get new jeans for work. Need them more than the snow right now. Oh well. I shouldn’t complain.
I have been reading the German painter Paula Modersohn-Becker letter and journals. I was paging and found this letter from Jan 13, 1905
“winter simply refuses to come this year. We have had nothing but spring weather, either violent spring storms or gentle spring rain or mild spring sunshine. I can’t get used to this confusion of seasons. I yearn to do some sensible skating and pump my lungs full of pure air.
Sorta nice to know this has happen before. I have been enjoying Paula’s letters and journals. Her artwork is interesting from what I seen on the internet. Too bad she die at age 31 after giving birth to her daughter. Paula, (in my mind) was still learning and really needed to find her own style of expressions.
Oh yes we have had snow and lots of ice yesterday I can tell you enough for me already!! esp after sliding into work and then home again! and now they say more snow for Fri!!!! so will see and yes cold cold cold!!! that will give me more art time and you more time to write and enjoy!!! stay warm!!!! Hugs Linda
